Shaqra is distinguished by its historic urban identity, embodied in the heritage old town, which consists of palaces, walls, mosques, wells, and historic dams, including Al-Subaie Palace, the residence of the founding king Abdulaziz bin Abdulrahman Al Saud, as well as Al-Husseini Mosque, the Al-Jomaih House, Al-Humaidiyah Well, and Wadi Al-Rimah Dam.

Shaqra Governorate has revitalized its tourism environment by developing its architectural heritage, which flourishes in the city’s historic center. The governorate has regained the appeal of heritage tourism through the restoration of the historic belt, which consists of palaces, houses, walls, wells, and dams.
